JOB TITLE: Electrical Engineering Coordinator
LOCATION: Petrojam Limited, Kingston
DESCRIPTION: Coordinating the development, execution and management of electrical engineering designs and projects to meet the intended objectives in accordance with established codes, standards and procedures, within the specified time, cost and quality; Coordinate as well as implement all activities associated with electrical engineering designs and projects, in accordance with standard guidelines and procedures established for project management, engineering, safety, etc.; Prepare electrical engineering designs; Review and endorse engineering designs done by others and ensure compliance with engineering principles, established codes, company and industry standards, and related specifications; Coordinate the maintenance/update of all key engineering deliverables such as Drawings, Technical Specifications, Area Classification Drawings, etc.; Monitor project construction activities to ensure compliance with construction schedules, blueprints, drawings, job specifications ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards; Plan, execute, monitor and control project scope, time, cost, quality, risk, and resources from project start through to close-out; Set SMART performance criteria and appraise personnel in accordance to policy guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering from a recognized University; A Master’s degree in related engineering discipline, Management OR Business Administration; Professional Engineer registration; Project Management certification (PMP or PRINCE2); A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in a refinery/major processing plant; at least three (3) of which must be at a supervisory level; Knowledge of engineering and construction codes and standards (e.g. IEEE, API, NEC, OSHA, ASTM); Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, troubleshooting, deductive and analytical skills; Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work and multi-task across many assignments; Proficient with Project Management Software and tools; Quantitative awareness of profit/cost impact of operating variables; Ability to write and comprehend engineering specifications; Proficient with MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & MS Project
