LOCATION: Everglades Farms, Trelawny
DESCRIPTION: Developing, monitoring and reviewing departmental accounting policies, procedures and processes; Verifying supporting documents for validity, accuracy and completeness, while capturing the payments and/or receipts on the accounting software; Verifying and approving payment transactions; ensuring they are correctly classified and supported by appropriate source documentation; Managing liabilities and commitments within budget constraints, including; recording, reconciliation and settlement.; Managing the General Ledger and Subsidiary Ledger reconciliations (including bank, debtors, creditors, suspense and interdepartmental accounts); Timely and complete month-end and year-end accounts closure process is performed in accordance with departmental policies and procedures and statutory require
QUALIFICATIONS: A first degree in Accounting, ACCA level 2 or equivalent qualification from a recognized educational institution; Three (3) years supervisory experience in accounting, experience in auditing would be an asset; Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required; Knowledge of Platinum Accounting Software would be an asset; Effective oral and written communication skills
