Long Range Planner
LOCATION: St. Elizabeth Parish Council, St. Elizabeth
DESCRIPTION: To facilitate the parish Local Sustainable Development Planning Process. The Long Range Planner will support the preparation of planning studies; Public consultations processes; Preparation of the Parish/Community Profile and the LSDP document; Development of secondary plans and action plans. Providing advice in the design and implementation of the LSDP planning process in St. Elizabeth Parish. Undertaking data collection and research for the LSDP planning studies such as land-use survey, economic base analysis, etc.; Assisting with the integration of the GIS tools and systems into the planning process; Providing input into the design of engagement strategies and assist in conducting public and stakeholder consultations; Contributing to the preparation of the Parish/Community Profile and the finalization of the LSDP; Identifying opportunities for collaboration and synergies with other community based development in the area (including community groups, private sector, NGOs, and other donor organizations); Providing input into the preparation of the project’s written materials for St. Elizabeth Parish (e.g. reports, research, studies, training materials, etc.) and communication outputs (articles, newsletters, promotional materials, web-based articles), and other special reports as required; Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: First Degree in Planning, or its equivalent with a minimum of three years of planning experience; Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant legislation, policies and guidelines; Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and assess planning issues and opportunities; Superb English language communication skills, including demonstrated ability to write concise and well structured reports in plain language and to present orally; Confident public speaker and presenter; Strong leadership and facilitation skills; Experience in workshop and event organizing and coordination; Full proficiency in Microsoft Office and website applications; Knowledge of GIS software and applications; Strong ability to work both independently and in a team environment; Well-organized and detail-oriented; Demonstrated problem-solving capacity; An ability to manage multiple projects, objectives and deadlines; A results orientation with a capability to bring tasks and written reports to completion under tight deadlines; An ability to work flexible hours.
