DESCRIPTION: Responsible for carrying out predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical components of machinery and equipment, in order to minimize down time and maximize the production capacity of the company; Working from prints and samples to operate lathes, milling machines, welders, broach and related shop equipment; Producing and repairing typical bakery equipment such as conveyors, shafts, rolls, plates, brackets, pans and machine parts as required; Troubleshooting and correcting mechanical faults on all machines and bakery equipment along with other food manufacturing equipment such as dough machines, ovens, baggers, scales and conveyors
QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized tertiary institution; Two (2) years’ post qualification experience in a similar capacity; Working knowledge of maintenance policies and procedures; Working knowledge of general machinery and equipment repair techniques; Ability to troubleshoot mechanical faults; Excellent time management skills; Sound knowledge of safety policies and practices as they relate to a manufacturing plant
