DESCRIPTION: Solid leadership to bring a revitalized attitude and posture to the Division and ensure that quality control, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance targets are met; Assist in the preparation of the annual operating plan, capital and maintenance budgets; Plan and direct predictive and preventative work; Actively seek to improve maintenance practices to maximize availability, reliability and equipment life
QUALIFICATIONS: BSc. in Mechanical/Industrial or Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years experience in a diesel power plant at a similar level supervising unionized personnel; Wide knowledge of electro-mechanical maintenance issues is essential to gain the respect of and galvanize a seasoned work team; Experience with two stroke engines is desirable, but not essential; Marine license would be an asset as also management training and certification; Military background would be an advantage; Excellent analytical skills to deal with a large number of variables and determine a specific course of action; Experience in maintenance management systems such as MP2 and familiarity with business systems; Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills, highly responsive to issues, with a proven record of providing sound leadership and obtaining cooperation; Capable of training, mobilizing and motivating a safe and efficient workforce.
