LOCATION: Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission, Kingston
DESCRIPTION: Managing the financial and accounting activities of JADCO and maintaining the organizations overall financial health; Directs the development and implementation of systems and procedures as the framework for the effective management and maintenance of sound accounting practices; Provides guidance in the interpretation and application of the Financial Administration and Audit (FAA) Act; Financial Instructions and all other relevant regulations as well as legislation governing the financial and the accounting operations of the Commission; Prepares monthly and annual financial reports/statements for management information purposes and for submission to Government and various regulatory bodies; Prepares and maintains the Budget for JADCO consistent with the guidelines of the MOFP and the priorities of JADCO
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Management Studies with Accounting, Financial Accounting or Financial Management; or ACCA Level 2 or Associate Degree in Accounting along with revised; Certificate in Government Accounting; Eight (8) years working experience in Accounting and or Financial Sector. Five (5) of those years should be at the middle or senior management level; Public Sector experience in managing Government Accounting would be an asset; Demonstrates highest level of ability in all aspects of communications: written, oral, listening and expressing ideas; Proficient in the use of major accounting applications and spreadsheets as well as Microsoft Office and other computer software
