Professor – International Political Economy/International Developmental Economics

DESCRIPTION: Teaching students of the Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations and the M.Sc. Degree in Global Studies; To pay special attention to issues arising from structural changes in the world economy, developments in the International Monetary System, the evolution and operation of financial markets, the nature of financial crises, global poverty and the challenges facing the Caribbean in a dynamic international environment; Supervision of research work of candidates reading for M.Phil and Ph.D Degrees in International Relations and participation in the research program of the Institute in the fields of International Relations and Global Studies are required elements of the job.
QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate or equivalent with specialization in International Political Economy/ International Economics or a related field; A concentration in International Money and Finance will be an advantage; Must have a record of distinguished original work; Outstanding success in and wide recognition of professional activities; Extensive research and teaching experience at university level in areas related to International Money and Finance will be favored; Conversant with the problems of developing states as well as with the theoretical literature and the policy and political issues associated with the operation of the international monetary and financial system; A facility in the use of educational technology as teaching duties may include distance delivery modes; Proficiency in the use of the English Language; Knowledge of French or Spanish will be an advantage; Ability to contribute significantly to the work of the Institute in teaching, research, grant writing, curriculum development and supervision of graduate students; Must be a team player and student-centered.
