JOB TITLE: Senior Instrument Engineer – Power House at Ewarton Works, St. Catherine

LOCATION:  Windalco. St. Catherine

DESCRIPTION: Analyzing instrument performance across the plant to determine the need for modification and or replacement, guarantee long term reliability and effective product quality monitoring; Maintenance of PLC systems, instrumentation and control panels; DCS control system programming and maintenance; Complex control Loop tuning; Boiler combustion control system and tuning; Implementing solutions to persistent equipment failure, conducting long term instrument improvement and monitoring instrument preventative maintenance systems; Analyzing applicable codes, standards and project contract documents, monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings and approved submissions; Performing complex technical and administrative tasks related to the design and coordination of specialized controls and instrumentation systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:  A degree in a technical engineering-related discipline with at least five years’ experience in instrument engineering, design and testing, ideally in a plant or power house; Knowledge of the Bayer Process, Maintenance Management Systems, PLC and DCS; Project management skills; Ability to work effectively in cross-functional groups within the organization; On call 24 hours.
