LOCATION: World Bank, Kingston
DESCRIPTION: Provide direct support to the Representative based in Kingston; The Consultant would be supporting the tasks for Jamaica, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago; Portfolio Management— Monitor, analyze, and support the portfolios to ensure quality and compliance with policies; Coordinate the missions in the countries; Contribute with analytical work to specific operational activities at all stages of the project cycle; Countries Programs — monitor and assist in the preparation of reports and related activities; Prepare briefing notes; Review and comment on project documents and analytical studies for consistency with the country strategy; The Consultant may be required to travel occasionally to Suriname and Trinidad & Tobago.
QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate Degree in a relevant field/discipline (Economics, Business Studies, Political Science, Finance, International Relations, or similar field related to development); Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with development agencies, government, or other comparable institutions; two or more years of experience in a relevant Bank sector/discipline (e.g. public sector management, financial analysis, etc.), or equivalent education/experiences; Good knowledge of portfolio management and business practices; Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, creativity, and willingness to perform a diversity of tasks within a rapidly changing and demanding environment on short deadlines; Outstanding inter-personal skills with proven ability to work cooperatively in a multi-cultural environment with a multidisciplinary team; Excellent written and communications skills, both in oral presentations and in writing sections of papers, briefs, independent reports, etc.; Fluency, spoken and written, in English is essential. Shortlisted candidates will be required to take an analytical and writing test consisting of: Analysis and presentation of two case study documents based on World Bank projects
