JOB TITLE: Targeted Intervention Officer

LOCATION:  Southern Regional Health Authority, Clarendon

DESCRIPTION: Responsible to coordinate and implement the regional strategy through specific interventions at the parish level; To coordinate behavior change communication Interventions specifically targeting commercial sex workers (CSW) and men who have sex with man (MSM); The development and implementation of a parish BCC Officer work plan, in keeping with the parish STI/HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Program Plan; Develop and implement two (2) targeted community outreach interventions annually; Identify, monitor and map Commercial Sex Workers’ (CSW) activities in the parish including fortnightly visits to high risk CSW sites; To establish and monitor at least ten (10) new non-traditional condom outlets in the parish; Plan at least six (6) HIV/STI community outreach prevention programs to include VCT for HIV especially among men; Plan and implement at least two (2) empowerment training program for MSM; Monthly plan of work and monthly and quarterly reports outlining the status and progress of the HIV/STI prevention programs in the parish; Prepare special reports of any major BCC activities held in the parish

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Social Science or Health related field. PLUS A minimum of one (1) year’s work experience in social work, youth development or health promotion and good working knowledge of HIV/AIDS and sexual reproductive health issue; Experience in program management, monitoring and evaluation; Experience in multi agency collaboration; Experience in health promotion, social marketing, and coordination of health programs and staff supervision; Sound Knowledge of HIV/AIDS/STI’s Behavior change models and theory and Public Health; Strong oral and written communication skills; Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision; Flexibility and adaptability.
