LOCATION: Caribbean Association of National Training Agencies, Trinidad
DESCRIPTION: Provide technical advice and expertise to NTAs on the necessary policy and program changes that will improve their capacity to develop demand-driven training and award Caribbean Vocational Qualifications (CVQ’s), thus contributing to increased regional mobility and economic growth; Cultivate ongoing and effective partnerships and networking relationships with NTA’s, TVET institutions, relevant Ministry officials, and other TVET-related agencies and will be supporting CANTA initiatives across the Caribbean; Perform the tasks identified by the CANTA Board related to occupational standards, quality assurance, and promotion of the CVQ; Provide technical support to CANTA to develop and implement regional TVET activities; Provide technical advice and expertise to NTAs, particularly those that are newly-formed, on policies and procedures that will align their activities with those of other CANTA members and the CARICOM Regional TVET Strategy; Establish linkages between NTAs to promote regional cooperation; Assist in the promotion of the CVQ framework across the Caribbean; Contribute to the development of a CANTA Secretariat, including developing policies, procedures, and scope of work; Submit reports on activities completed to CANTA and to the C-EFE program as required; Contribute to and review plans for training programs and workshops, and assist in identifying suitable participants from NTAs; Contribute to the development of a standard format for occupational standards and facilitate their preparation for submission to RCMTVET; Contribute to C-EFE activities related to rebranding and marketing to TVET in the region; Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in the field of education, or equivalent; Solid understanding of the role, organization, and responsibilities of NTAs; Solid understanding of the role of industry in demand-driven, competency-based curriculum development; Solid understanding of the CVQ framework; Expertise in the development of occupational standards; Extensive experience in technical vocational education and training (TVET) and Competency-Based Training (CBT) in particular, either as a curriculum developer, teacher-trainer, administrator or consultant; Successful experience working with regional partners; Understanding of the education and training issues and challenges within CARICOM; Demonstrated experience in research and report preparation; Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environment; Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; Demonstrated abilities using the Microsoft Office Suite, internet and communication technologies, net meeting, etc.; Willingness to travel within the region as required. Candidates will not be required to relocate for this position, but must have strong internet connectivity to meet virtually and strong initiative to work independently to meet deadlines. The C-EFE program allows for persons to work on secondment from their current positions.
