LOCATION: SportsMax, Kingston

DESCRIPTION: Provide technical support to enable the effective and efficient discharge of the functions of the Engineering department; Monitor and maintain satellite and fiber signals to ensure that all incoming and outgoing transmissions are successfully completed; Perform basic maintenance on all applicable systems and devices and keep a proper record of maintenance intervals and schedules; Assist with live outside television broadcasts; Operate waveform monitors and vectorscopes and interpret the displayed information; Oversee the operations of the television studio

QUALIFICATIONS: BSc Engineering with strong IT capabilities; Minimum of 5 years working experience; Be fully competent with all aspects of satellite transmission. Specifically: DVB MPEG-2 Encoding; DVB Structures; Multiplexing ; Encryption and descrambling systems; Modulation, frequency conversion, RF transmission; Down-linking and decoding satellite signals; Good understanding of electronics, electronic circuits, electronic components and power supplies; Have a very good understanding of power supplies, electrical distribution, load management, UPS systems, emergency supplies, changeover units, etc.; Knowledge of fully electronic signals types, how to handle them, and interface with them.
