Location: The Early Childhood Commission, Kingston

Description: Responsible for determining compliance with the provisions of relevant laws, regulations, policies and rules; Reporting on internal controls, and where necessary recommending appropriate measures to be taken; Conducts audits of Early Childhood Institutions to assess the adequacy, efficiency and effectiveness in achieving desired objectives, and compliance with relevant laws, regulations, policies and rules; Examines and appraises financial and accounting practices, systems and procedures; Inspects internal controls and accounting systems to determine efficiency and effectiveness; Determines the audit approach, conducts risk analysis, develops audit programs and develops and applies internal auditing procedures and techniques; Assists in designing internal control systems and policies to correct weaknesses in operational and financial procedures within Management Information Systems; Facilitates the conduct of external audits

Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or ACCA level 2 or equivalent qualifications; Four (4) years working experience in internal auditing; Sound knowledge of the Financial Administration and Audit (FAA) Act and associated Regulations; Sound knowledge of risk based audit techniques; Sound knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, standards and practices; Comprehensive knowledge of current auditing principles, standards and techniques; Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle
