Dancehall’s ultimate family man Junior Reid returns to Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, for one big family reunion with friends and fans this weekend, and from all indications, it’s going to be worth the wait.
Billed as ‘Ragga soul Live’ on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at the legendary Blue Horizon, 1314 Broad Street in the heart of Philadelphia, Reid, the reggae recording icon takes his booming voice and the chart-topping, national anthem – One Blood – of his global music family to an audience that should include a good mix of music lovers from Reggae, to Hip Hop, R & B and soul and much more in between.
With two of the brightest and best voices in radio entertainment – Richie B of Hot 102 FM/Jamaica and Uncle 0 of Power 99 FM/Philadelphia – directing the human traffic on and off the stage, it’s definitely going to be red hot up inside the Blue Horizon with the likes of rising stars Danglin, Flippa Mafia,,Shan-0, Young Chris and Jah Tuff all doing their thing and getting the ‘massives and crew’ into a groovy situation.
Early juggling for the show will be done by the sound system maestros Vybz Epress and MG International with djs Textra of Atlanta and Mickie Faith of Texas spinning the wheels of steel.. Early juggling starts at 9:00 pm. sharp.
The event is being produced and presented by T-Logo Entertainment, ToeTactic Garms Clothing and Western Booking & Promotion, all based in Philadelphia, Pa. Executive producer is Veronica Reid, president of Western Bookings & Promotions.
