JAAA To Benefit As JURA Launches Massive Colleciton Drive

Mr Aris was the guest speaker at the Jura Collection Drive Launch held on October 7, 2009 in Ft Lauderdale. He was enroute to an IAAF Conference in Monte Carlo October 9 – 11, 2009.

Aris outlined some of the immediate needs and projects in motion of the JAAA and expressed his apreciation of the ongoing support of JURA to Jamaica and the JAAA.

All proceeds from this drive thru the year 2012 will benefit the youth and athletic programs of Jamaica.

President Vonnie McGowan Arscott has again confirmed her firm commitment to the Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association (JAAA) who will continue to be the beneficiary of this JURA initiative she started in 2008 and has assured that it will run through to 2010. She is extremely confident that the projected goals will be met in time for the Summer Olympics in 2012.

JURA’s emphasis and support will be the younng competitors in the upcoming, Penn Relays and the Carifta Games, taking place early next year. The competitions leading up to the IAAF World Track and field championships 2011 in Korea and the Olympics in 2012 in London.

Some 1000 collection cans are being placed in teh tri-county area of Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties in Florida, with a collection target of USD $ 100,000.00.

JURA is inviting all southeastern United States members of the Jamaica Diaspora, their friends and associates, alumni associations civic and charitable organizations, schools, churches, individuals and businesses to participate in teh effort.

JURA invites calls to have cans delivered to interested participants.
