On Wednesday, September 21st the City of Coconut Creek welcomed Kacey’s Jamaican Restaurant to the city during its official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
Vice Mayor Mikkie Belvedere, accompanied by Commissioners’ Lisa Aronson, Marilyn Gerber and City staff along with the Greater Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce Board members and special guests Mrs. Sandra Grant-Griffiths, honorable Consul General of Jamaica and Mrs. Rhoda M. Jackson, honorable Consul General of the Bahamas, business leaders and community members, friends and family, joined owner’s Marlene Omphroy and Michael Smith in celebrating the grand opening of the Restaurant, located at 4301 Coconut Creek Parkway.
During the brief Ceremony Vice Mayor Mikkie Belvedere stated “Kacey’s Restaurant is a great addition to the city and provides another interesting assortment of international restaurants located within the Butterfly city.” She wished the Owner’s good luck and great success. While Albert Lettman, President of the Greater Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce (GCACC), which hosted the Ribbon Cutting event, lauded the owners for their perseverance during these tough economic times and thanked them for their continued corporate citizenship. After the ceremony, Vice Mayor Mikkie Belvedere officially cut the ceremonial ribbon to welcome everyone. Later they were given a tour of the Restaurant and treated to samples of the restaurant’s signature items Kacey’s mini dumplings, ackee wraps, jerk meatballs and their famous escoveitch chicken wings.
The Restaurant relocated from Margate to the new location in August. “We wanted to make sure everything was finally tuned before we did our grand opening. We wanted to ensure that “Kacey’s becomes our guest Home Away From Home” At Kacey’s expect great prices, delicious food, friendly service, and a warm charming Caribbean atmosphere”, said Marlene Omphroy, about the opening ceremony.
Kacey’s is open 6 days a week Monday – Thursday 9am – 8pm, Friday 9am – 11pm and Saturday 9am – 10pm, serving lunch and dinner, eat in or takeout and offers a $4.99 weekday lunch special. Kacey’s also does catering for all occasions.
