Fresh off the heels of his Irie FM Awards win, where he walked away with Gospel Artiste of the year, Kevin Downswell releases his brand new single GRACE, on Holy Thursday, April 14th, 2022. GRACE is Produced by Lamar “Riff Raff” Brown.
“We are living in time and a season, where just knowing you are above ground is a blessing”, Downswell said. “Jamaica and the rest of the world have gone through a lot the past couple years. Many of us have lost family members, home, income, and the list of losses goes on and on. We have been through much.”
He continued by saying “GRACE” means God’s unmerited favor, which means there is nothing we could have done to earn it, and as a matter of fact, many of us including myself deserve the opposite of grace, but God in his love kept us, preserved us, and in some cases, elevated us. The Bible says For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2 verses 8-10. There is nothing that’s happened in my life where I can boldly say I did it or I am the reason it all came together. No, God did it. In spite of myself, in spite of my failures and flaws, He never even waited for me to get it together before He made a move. That is Grace, and that I am so grateful for.”
Commenting on the mood of his new release, Downswell exclaimed, “GRACE is explosive, and very different from other songs that I have released in the past. The Intro and the first verse sneaks up on you, and by the time you know it, you are completely captivated by the powerful and catchy lyrics of the chorus. The drums, the Bass, the organ, everything converge to create one amazing masterpiece. I pray this song will help many to see how good God has been to them, no matter where they are, and to give him praise and adoration just for being God. I also pray it will be a source of God’s richest blessings and inspiration”, he concluded.
Kevin was recently signed to Global Christian Music giants INTEGRITY MUSIC and also just recently became one of the artistes Headline Entertainment now books for.
