Over the years Jamaica’s Education System, mostly in the rural areas, has deteriorated drastically. These schools are not equipped with the basic tools that students need in order to gain a proper education especially in this increasingly complex and high technology era. If such situation is not rectified, our potential leaders will lag behind the rest of the Caribbean and indeed the world.
Both Kim and I have been privately donating supplies through various organizations to schools in Jamaica. At the moment we are financially contributing to the education and social stability of children attending several Primary and Secondary Schools in Jamaica.
This year, with your help we would like to donate part proceeds from the 1st Annual “Share a Smile” event slated for Saturday, May 1st at the Cultural Performing Arts Center in Brooklyn and “Raffle drawing” on July 25th live on Caribbean Life Style TV (CIN). Part Proceeds will go towards donating School Supplies and any other items that are deemed essential to the education of the students.
Windsor Primary School located in Portland, Jamaica has been selected to be this years recipient. The Education Officer for the region Mrs. Audrey Harris – Clarke has graciously accepted the offer of assistance on behalf of the school. The aim is to try and alleviate some of their current difficulties.
We encourage you to choose items from Windsor Primary’s current school supply requirement list ( see attachment or contact Kim or Lorraine for list)
However your support at the “Share a Smile” Event and Raffle will also be greatly appreciated.
