Kingston & St. Andrew, St. Elizabeth and St. Catherine have now crowned their Festival Queens and are gearing up to snatch the National Title at the National Festival Queen Coronation in July.
On Saturday, May 31 at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre, Anjell Bryan walked away with the Miss Kingston and St. Andrew Festival Queen title as well as the trophy for being Most Culturally Aware. The first runner-up spot was copped by Christina Miller who also received the awards for Best Performance, Most Congenial and Most Poised. Amelia Leveridge was the second runner-up.
It was an intense battle at the St. Elizabeth Parish Show on Saturday, May 31 but it was Keona Bailey who copped the Miss St. Elizabeth Parish Queen title along with the sectional prize for Most Involved in the Community. Mandi Salmon was placed 1st runner-up while and Donomar Waite was awarded the 2nd runner-up spot and the sectional prize for Best Performance. The show was held at the Alpart Sports Club.
St. Catherine crowned Miss Danene Cruikshank as their 2014 Queen on Sunday, June 1 at the Southborough Primary School. She also won the award for Best Performance. Tishawna Daley was the first runner-up and was voted Most Culturally Aware while the 2nd runner-up spot was awarded to Latisa Prescott who was voted Most Involved in the Community.
More Parish Coronations
Closing out this year’s Parish Coronations will be Hanover, Clarendon and St. James. On Saturday, June 7, Hanover will crown its Festival Queen at the Jockey Factory in
Lucea at 8:00 p.m. with tickets being sold at a cost of Adults $1000 presold, $1200 at the gate and children under 12 years old $400. Also on June 7, Clarendon will host its Festival Queen Show at the St. Thomas More Church Hall, May Pen at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are accessible at the Parish Office costing Adults $800 presold, $1000 at the
gate and children $300. The Final Show will be held in St. James at the Iberostar Hotel in Lilliput on Sunday, June 8 at 7:00 p.m. with tickets being sold at Adults $1200 presold, $1500 at the gate and children $500. Tickets can be had at the St. James Parish Office.
