The Centerstage Theatre in New Kingston will be all abuzz with action again (from Friday July 5) as another Patrick Brown, Jambiz produced theatrical offering takes to the stage.

“Lots and lots of theatre patrons look forward to what we have to offer at the start of the Christmas and Summer theatre seasons, and we do our best to ensure that they are not disappointed” said production manager and publicist Lenford Salmon. “They will love this one. It will give that feel-good kind of thing – with loads of laughter. But will force you to rethink your own appraoch to your sexual behaviour. Folks will leave the theatre thinking about the subject matter days, weeks, or perhaps even months after. It will have that kind of effect”.

Lead actor Glen “Titus” Campbell was in a jovial mood at last night’s dress rehearsal and pointed out that “we are ready man. Stomach filled with that butterfly feel which some calls nervousness, but which helps an actor. It’s all there. I am feeling it and that makes me feel good. The entire cast, the crew, everyone’s all ready for action”.

Campbell plays Carlos – a smart-talking, dapper-dressing record producer, blessed with a nose which easily sniffs out the next great hit-maker. His trusted nose has now led him to an unbelievable talent in one of the unlikeliest of places and one which comes with all kinds of complications – some too personal for comfort.

To avoid complications, Carlos is a man who prefers to pay for his nocturnal pleasures. No strings attached. Until he runs into Sugar – his preferred Lady of the Night. When Sugar crosses the line and starts to attach strings to the arrangement, Carlos finds that running away is not so easy this time. Not when Sugar also possesses the voice of a nightingale and Carlos’ hit making nose is twitching. This sets up a romantic intrigue of immense proportions which keeps you on edge from the moment the curtain rises, and keeps you there for the entire ride, amidst witty one-liners and hilarious exchanges.

The quartet of LADIES are Keisha Patterson (Sugar), Sakina Deer (Honey), Sharee McDonald-Russell (Cherry) and Camille Davis (Juicy). On the surface they all look like the typical girl next door, but their chosen profession is not one they would write home to tell Mom about.

Completing the cast is Courtney Wilson, Juicy’s handcart pushing boyfriend Scatta, a man with an arid thirst for success and a passionate drive which propels him way beyond his limited opportunities.

After its World Premier the production will embark on a limited run at Centerstage Theatre, playing Tuesdays to Fridays at 8pm and on Saturdays and Sundays at 5pm and 8pm.
