In times when violence continues to plague many communities and hopelessness is the feeling of attitude in many young people, Quamme Joseph, a motivational speaker and the first Grenadian to author a motivational book  is inspiring positive change across the Caribbean and the Diaspora.

Quamme who authors the book, The Power of a Dream which will be launched at Byran’s Bookstore, in the New Kingston Shopping Centre on July 16, 2009 has been “helping people change their outlook on life and challenge youth to dream, develop a sense of purpose and identify what success means to them.”

The twenty-eight year old St Georges University medical student is blazing the trail in Grenada, St Vincent, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago and London tackling several social problems such as youth violence, hopelessness, and male marginalisation to motivate people to pursue their dreams through his Positive Dreams campaign.

The Power of a Dream is about uncapping the divine power which lies deep within us to protect and guide our dreams, so we may believe in ourselves and become successful. Through his book Joseph reminds readers that success is a must and failure should never be an option.

According to Joseph, the release of the book in Jamaica is timely particularly with the continued surge in crime figures. Joseph has donated several copies to adolescents and young adults who are often the main victims and perpetrators of crime.

Quamme Joseph is fulfilling a dream to become a neuro-surgeon and finds time to help others in pursuit of their dreams. Now in Jamaica Joseph will be engaged in several communities across the country through rap and motivational sessions with children and youth, community workers, parents and other adults.

The Power of a Dream is available for purchase on all major online bookstores and will be distributed in Jamaica by Bryan’s Bookstore in the New Kingston Shopping Centre. Copies will be on sale at major bookstores across Jamaica and at www.quammejoseph.com
