The inaugural Love Not Likes Master Class with Lauren O Lauren otherwise known as Lauren Dunn, spoke about personal branding and communication techniques to build a following and monetize.

She spoke to a crowd of fifty bloggers and influencers, including stylist and social media influencer Kristia Franklin (otherwise known as myrepeatoffender on Instagram), podcaster and doctor Mario Evon and tv personality, model and social media influencer Amita Webb, all  personalities in the digital space.

The event was hosted at Co Work Ja, by Love Not Likes founder, Kesi Gardner, a marketer for over 15 years. She said, “We want to educate young Jamaicans to create new income opportunities. Influencer marketing is a billion dollar industry in the US.”

CPJ sponsored pink margaritas with their Sparkling Ice and El Jimador Blanco Tequila mix. Cafe Dolce sponsored delicious desserts with strawberry cheesecake to match the pink theme.

Lady Shelly Beauty had their beauty products on sale, while every guest received a goodie bag with 20% discount off of any service by Blow by Blow and skincare samples by Janus Medical spa. Lauren also gave out merchandise from Bumble and Facebook.

This networking event brought bloggers and micro-influencers together to bond and network before the class started. Lauren mentioned, “If you’re just starting out, it’s important to be yourself and not just do things that are trendy. Approaching it like a party promoter, joining forces with other bloggers and influencers and pitching to brands is a way to get brands on board.” she said.

This is the first staging of the Love Not Likes master class series. Love Not Likes is planning to do one for every industry, comedy, travel, food and technology.
