The Voice Of The Arts Meets The Voice Of The Caribbean

LinkUp Media, Inc -the largest Caribbean-owned media company in the United States-has made yet another Big LINK, as part of the ever-growing PROJECT BLINK, to Atlanta’s “Voice of the Arts” 1690AM. Starting Saturday, March 31st, LinkUp Media is launching LinkUp Radio ATL 1690AM, with their signature blend of music, news, and information specifically for Atlanta’s growing Caribbean population.

Spearheaded by LinkUp Media CEO David “Squeeze” Annakie, LinkUp Radio ATL 1690 AM will fill a significant void in Caribbean radio programming in Atlanta. The program will provide daily music, entertainment and information with live links to LinkUp Radio 93.5FM in New York, and RJR and Hot 102 in Jamaica.

“Caribbean people from the Tri-state area are moving to Atlanta in droves,” notes Annakie. “However, there is a huge void in radio and other programming targeting this huge market. LinkUp plans to fill this void by not only bringing LinkUp Radio, but our highly acclaimed JAMROCK Magazine and our Caribbean LINK weekly newspaper to the Georgia market.”

“We’re really excited to have LinkUp Radio on 1690AM,” states Jeff Davis of 1690AM “The Voice of the Arts.” “Atlanta has a growing Caribbean market, and we are glad that 1690AM through LinkUp can be one of the few outlets for this community.”

LinkUp Media was launched in 1996 with LinkUp Radio 93.5 FM WVIP (formerly WRTN) and has become the leading provider of Caribbean radio programming in the New York, New Jersey, and the southern Connecticut metro area. Seeking to bring the company to the next level, Annakie recently launched Project BLINK-the Big LINK- introducing new media entities, making bold improvements in the company’s radio and television programming, and taking on new business expansion opportunities. LinkUp Radio ATL 1690 AM is latest of many steps LinkUp Media is taking to expand its reach to Caribbean people across the country. Other Big LINKs from LinkUp Media include a multi-million dollar real estate venture with Dream Makers Realty and the Bustamante Childrens’ Challenge, where LinkUP has issued a challenge to the Caribbean-American community to match LinkUp’s $2,000,000 (Jamaican) donation to the Bustamante Hospital for Children.
