The song ‘Talk Up’ was recorded a few weeks ago after footage went viral online of a young man hitting a young woman repeatedly. Entertainment personalities Dexta Daps and Wally British even got into a heated discussion about the video and ignited a domestic violence debate.

Domestic violence is a serious issue and I’m happy to lend my voice to important issues like this. So many persons are listening to us as artistes so if even one person listens to the ‘Talk Up’ song and leaves an abusive situation then I’ve played my part,” Macka explained

The ‘Talk Up’ track is produced by Shaka Pow under his label Outfytt Records and visuals were shot and directed by Carlington Wilmot for Wilmot Films.

The song, Macka says is geared at encouraging persons going through abusive relationships to talk to someone because staying silent may cost them their lives.

“Personally I’ve never been physically abused by a partner but I know persons who have gone through it and we have seen so many cases end tragically, Talk Up encourages even those who aren’t in the situation but see this happening to a friend or family member to not stay silent,” Macka added

Macka continues to drop new content in spite of the Covid crisis and believes that especially now when relationships are being tested, that victims of domestic violence whether Male of female should be protected.

The official video for ‘Talk Up’ can be seen on Macka Diamond’s Vevo Page on YouTube.
