ABOUT THE SHOW
Launched on TVJ in 2008, Magnum Kings & Queens of Dancehall continues to showcase some of the best fresh Dancehall talent ever to premiere on Jamaican TV. The interactive talent competition filmed live in Kingston, has energized television viewers.
Magnum Kings & Queens of Dancehall’s mission is to unearth and showcase authentic Jamaican dancehall talent. The voted King & Queen of Dancehall will be given the tools with which to construct a viable career as dancehall artistes.

CHANGES FOR SEASON 5
There are a few exciting changes for the 5th Season of Magnum Kings & Queens of Dancehall:
- New Digicel’s Di Endz Host
- New Live show venue

The gorgeous 5-foot-7 beauty, Yanique Barrett, was a hit on the Magnum stage last season. Yanique is eager to once again usher in a fresh new crop of dancehall princes and princesses for Jamaica’s viewing pleasure.
JUDGES
Cordell ‘Scatta’ Burrell, Miss Kitty and Professor Nuts will return as the Magnum Kings & Queens of Dancehall Judges. We will also be introducing guest judges throughout the show.

CONTESTANT AUDITIONS
Auditions will take place in November and December 2011 at 5 locations across the Island for 1 day only.
Our 3 resident Judges will select 5 princes and 5 princesses from each of the 5 audition location (50 semi-finalists) The judges will then deliberate and select the Top 28 Live Show finalists (14 Princes and 14 Princesses).

Magnum Kings & Queens of Dancehall is open to anyone 18 years and older, who is not currently signed to a management or recording contract, and is a citizen of Jamaica or has a visa, entitling them to enter and work in Jamaica. At the auditions, participants may either perform individually or in groups. Participants who are unsuccessful at one location may try again at any other location.
PRIZES
The 2011 Magnum King and Queen will each receive:
- J$1,000,000
- A single produced by Stephen McGregor / Justus
- A video directed by Garreth “The Truth Cobran / Mykal Cushnie
