Major Talent to be Unleashed At Gospel Song Finals

Come Sunday, July 27, ten finalists will face-off in the National Finals of the JCDC Jamaica Gospel Song Competition at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre. This promises to unearth and showcase some major talent and promising artistes for the Gospel industry.

The Show will kick start at 7:00 p.m. and will feature Adrian Dell with “Blessed and Highly Favoured”, Anishca Sinclair – “The Word of God”, Stacy-Ann Brooks Kristos with the song, “Give Me Jesus”, Aneisha Walker- “Unchanging Love”, Jerome Welch with “Rise Up And Stand”, Servants, “Free At Last”, Orville Sutherland- “Cool Shade”, Travis Gordon with “Roll Back the Dark Clouds”, Keneisha Wilson – “Prayer Warrior”, and Chavan Nelson with “Turn Around”. The top ten songs recorded, mixed and mastered by Almond Productions Limited are original entries and have been receiving good rotation by the media.

Organized by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), an agency of the Ministry of Youth and Culture, the Jamaica Gospel Song Competition has become an iconic presentation of indigenous gospel music in Jamaica since its inception in 1987. JCDC Gospel and Church Services Coordinator, Leighton Jones notes that the JCDC Jamaica Gospel Song Competition has been contributing to Jamaica’s moral fabric which is essential to growth and development.

For the showdown on Sunday, Mr. Jones pointed out that “Jamaicans should come out and support their favourite Gospel Song finalist even though I do not have a favourite as they are all so good. July 27 will be about celebrating the best of Jamaican Gospel music under the theme, Moving Forward.”

The guest performer for the Show is Gospel powerhouse, Joan Flemming. The Competition is sponsored by Almond Productions, DIGICEL, TBC Radio, NCU FM, Gospel JA, Love 101 FM, CVM TV, IRIE FM, Suncity Radio, Kingston & St. Andrew Corporation, Jamaica Music Society, ATL Group and PETCOM.

Tickets are available at the Portmore Mall Pharmacy, Sangster’s Book Store (Mall Plaza, Portmore, Sovereign, King Street), JCDC Offices and online, www.jcdcjamaica.com. Adults can access tickets at a cost of $900 pre sold, $1000 at the gate and children $400 while public sector employees are able to purchase tickets at $800 with identification.
