Armed Forces Entertainment sent athletes Brad Ziegler and Devon Harris to the Persian Gulf to boost the troops’ morale with their motivational words and wisdom. The major league baseball player and the former Jamaican bobsledder also signed autographs, posed for pictures, and extended their gratitude to the men and women in uniform.
Ziegler is a major league baseball player who pitched for the United States in the 2009 World Baseball Classic and currently pitches for the Oakland A’s. Devon Harris is best known for the Disney Blockbuster Cool Runnings, a movie that was based on his and his teammates’ experience as members of Jamaica’s first bobsled team in 1988. Harris also competed in the 1992 and 1998 Winter Olympic Games as a bobsledder for Jamaica and founded the Keep on Pushing Foundation, an organization that brings hope to underprivileged youth across the globe.
