WHAT: With the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners, the highly anticipated Miami Broward Carnival set for Sunday October 7th at Sunlife Stadium gears up for an unprecedented launch event in Hialeah. Hialeah Park to be exact, will serve as the backdrop for the “Countdown to Carnival” launch on Sunday August 26th! Over twenty-five mas bands from nations all over the Caribbean will be in attendance displaying their picks for this year’s costumes and sections. Bandleaders will give patrons an opportunity to participate in the coveted mas with the ability to sign up on site.
Rain or shine, get ready for an amazing celebration of cultures and islands of the Caribbean. “As we team up with Islands United and other carnival party promoters to kick off this launch, we look forward to seeing you all in Hialeah alongside our Latino community. We invite all aspects of the Diaspora to participate and welcome the entire South Florida Diaspora as we commence the celebration of Carnival ” says Mario Zamora, carnival chairman.
