Miami Northwestern Art Magnet Students Create a Colorful, Vibrant and Positive Impact On Their School and Community Through Public Art, May 27, 2014, Florida

Moving Lives of Kids Art Center (MLK Mural) continues to create a colorful artistic movement with some of South Florida’s most creative young people. They will join the art magnet students who are part of the FIU Education Effect Program at Miami Northwestern High School (MNW) on Friday, May 27th for the opening and unveiling of the MNW mural and new student gallery space.

The team from MLK Mural led the students in creating the mural throughout the hall next to the gallery.  The theme of the mural includes art history, natural history and historic figures. The students also had an opportunity to attend some of the exhibits during Art Basel the past year. MLK Mural is dedicated to inspiring the power of creating public art in partnership with the local youth and support of communities. The murals will beautify Miami Northwestern for years to come.
