Mighty Diamonds Receive Congressional Proclamation On November 1, 2009

On Nov. 1, Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke recognized Jamaica’s premiere harmony Trio, the Mighty  Diamonds, with a Congressional Proclamation for their 40 years of hits and contributions to the music industry, at Reggae Culture Salute 2009 in Brooklyn, NY.

The Mighty Diamonds have also released their latest single, “Special Lady,” a remake of Ray, Goodman and Brown’s 1980’s ballad, on their independent label, Street Corner Music.

Look for the Mighty Diamonds on tour in the U.S. during Black History Month in February, 2010.  The Diamonds will be backed by a reggae/jazz ensemble called the Yellow Wall Dub Squad, featuring Stevie Love (lead guitar), Dane Cole and Everton Pryce (keys), Dyrol Randall (drums) and Chelem (bass).
