The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), an agency of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport is pleased to announce the results from the Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Grand Coronation, held on Wednesday, August 1at the National Arena:

  • 1st Runner Up: Shantae Grant, Miss Hanover

Ackera Sherokie Gowie has a relentless passion for volunteerism and nation-building. Born and raised in the rural community of Ranch, St. Mary, she strongly believes that with vision, discipline, and God, all things are possible. Her long term mission is to be the Chief Executive Officer of ‘Green JA’ which will be a recycling company entirely powered by waste.

In 2017, Ackera Gowie was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Relations and Public Sector Management, which was made possible through a complete scholarship through the Governor General’s IBI Summer of Service Competition. Ackera lives and is guided by the question ‘What can I do for my country?’
