National Association Of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Hosts Its First Annual Bravo Awards – Jamaican Nominee, March 1, 2010, Fort Lauderdale

The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Chapter, has named 15 women entrepreneurs and community leaders as nominees for its First Annual Bravo Awards presentation.

The signature event will be held March 1, from 6-9 p.m. at the Westin Hotel, located at 400 Corporate Drive in Fort Lauderdale.

The Bravo award was created to recognize women entrepreneurs’ inspiration, innovation and risk-taking ability of to create significant contributions in their communities.

Of the 15 nominees, five, in the areas of Diversity: women of diverse ethnicities who demonstrates outstanding achievement as a business owner; Media: women in television, radio, newspaper, magazine, or other media who leverages her presence to promote women’s business issues or community advocacy; Spirit of the Community: women who are non-profit community leaders or elected officials making a positive difference in the South Florida communities; Go Green: women in business or business owners who exemplify environmental consciousness; Young Women Entrepreneurs: business owners between 13 and 25, will receive the award.

The nominees for Diversity include :  Yesenia Collazo, Collazo Law Firm, PA; Julia Harper, Thera Peeds, Inc. and Dr. Elizabeth King, International Holistic Center. Media: Sharlyn Lauby, International Talent Management Group; Trina Robinson, NBC 6 news anchor and meteorologist and Maxine Tulloch, Tulloch Media Group. Spirit of the Community: Dr. Ann Mody Lewis, Women’s Journey; Carmen Miller; McKinley Financial Services and Dawn De Marco, Sparkle of Life. Go Green: Daniell Washington, The Big Blue and You Foundation and Caridad Montano, Dade County Public Schools, Terra Environmental Research Institute. Young Woman Entrepreneur of the Year: Amy Kulp, Beaded Delights; Lindsay Giambattista, Taylors Closet and Shea Gouldd, Shea’s Bakery.

Dinner, networking and a silent auction are included in the evening’s events. Spouses and guests are encouraged to attend.
