New General Manager Announced At Air Jamaica

Effective July 1, 2010, Mr. Howard Hall, Air Jamaica’s Vice President Finance and Information Technology (IT), assumed the new position of General Manager, as Caribbean Airlines and Air Jamaica continue the integration process. This as the contract for Air Jamaica’s President and CEO Mr. Bruce R. Nobles came to an end on June 30, 2010.

Mr. Nobles first served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Air Jamaica from June 2002 to March 2003. He rejoined the airline in October 2008 and was instrumental in assisting the Government of Jamaica in its strategy for the preparation of privatizing the airline, managing its operations and formulating the transition to Caribbean Airlines.

The Hon. Dennis Lalor, Chairman of Air Jamaica, thanked Mr. Nobles for his service and noted that the Airline, and indeed Jamaica, was well served by Mr. Nobles’ insight and experience. The Chairman further said that, “The entire Air Jamaica team thanks Bruce for being an excellent leader who remained steadfast in dynamic times.”

Caribbean Airlines CEO Captain Ian Brunton added that, “Mr. Nobles’ agile mind, entrepreneurial spirit, and his credentials in global aviation all greatly contributed to his invaluable leadership, through what has been one of the most challenging periods of the airline’s history.”

Mr. Howard Hall has served two tenures at Air Jamaica, first as Chief Financial Officer from 2000 to 2004, and again as Vice President Finance and IT since October 2008. Mr. Hall has considerable expertise in financial planning and general management and has been pivotal in the charge to transform Air Jamaica.  He will also continue to function in his current role as head of Finance and IT.
