On this day in Jamaican History – On born February 6, 1945 the “King of Reggae” Robert Nesta “Bob” Marley was born in St. Ann, Jamaica. He remains the most widely known and revered performer of reggae music, and is credited with helping spread both Jamaican music to a worldwide audience.   Starting out in 1963 with the group the Wailers, he forged a distinctive songwriting and vocal style that would later resonate with audiences worldwide.  Happy Birthday Bob Marley.
