On this day in Jamaican History: On August 20th, 2008 Jamaica’s Usain Bolt won the men’s 200m final at the Beijing Olympic Games breaking the world record in a time of 19.30 seconds. On that day Bolt became the first man since Carl Lewis in 1984 to sweep the 100 and 200 gold medals at an Olympics. A feat he repeated at 2012 London Olympics. Here is video of the world record run:
