Outpouring Of Love From Fans For Cedric ‘IM’ Brooks

The family of Cedric Im Brooks would like to take the time to thank all his fans and well wishers for their out pouring of love and tremendous support in these real trying times. We would also like to take this time to keep all concerned abreast of his situation.

Cedric has been a patient at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital in NY since Thursday, February 18th 2010 when he was admitted to the facility in an unconscious state. He was found unresponsive by a family member in his Bronx apartment. After a week and a half in the ICU in a comatose state, and a host of extensive test, it was later diagnosed that his situation was brought on by a severe case of pneumonia, which in turn lead to other complications.

On Monday, March 1, 2010, he was transferred to a different floor, to better monitor his respiratory needs. Although he is now opening his eyes his condition is still considered critical.

In these past two (2) weeks, the family and the medical staff at the Bronx Lebanon has been totally blown away and overwhelmed by all the calls – local and international – along with the scores of visitors for Cedric. All the well wishers, please be aware of the tremendous gratitude the family has for your abundance of love, prayers, and support. We are greatly indebted to all. Thanks.

Since 1998 Cedric was a permanent member of popular band the Skatalites. He was schedule to leave the USA this past Monday to embark on a tour of Australia and Japan with the group. He was presently in the process of re-establishing his Light of Saba Band. Which is a part of his Journey to Africa project. He was also in the beginning stages of writing his autobiography. His work is not complete, so all our combined strength and prayers are needed.

A special thanks is extended to the staff of the Bronx Lebanon Hospital for the excellent care offered and their tolerance.
