I may not agree with Hillary’s delivery but I agree with the basis of her message. The US media has gone easy on Obama. You can see it in the questions they ask him. The stories written. There has been no deep investigative reports on his record as with Hillary and McCain. No “big” story on the dealings with his mansion in Chicago and his supporter that will be going on trial the day before the March 4th primary. Why? Some argue that they do not want to be viewed as being racist. Others say they have bought into the movement. I remember Chris Matthews saying he got a “thrill up his leg” after listening to Obama. I think most of the US media is in that mode…
It is different in Europe. There are some thought provoking articles written about all the candidates by the European media (BBC, Economist etc). They are asking the tough questions. They are following stories on all the candidates.
Back to the US media….I am not saying they are to look for a needle in a haystack but if they don’t ask the tough questions who will. Will it be left to non-profit proxies of each party. The MoveOn.org of the Democrats or will it be a Swift Boat type organization from the Republicans? Even though I may not trust the media I still think they have to base stories on facts.
Lastly, let me make it clear that I am not pushing any candidate. If you read some of my past posts you will see I do not like to be put in a box when it comes to my political affiliations.
PS: Hillary please focus on your message and stop complaining.
