Florida Tech Honors, Jamaican, Paulette King as the Top Female Basketball Player of the first Quarter Century
Paulette King, who last year served as co-coach of the gold medal winning Caribbean Basketball Champion Jamaica National Basketball Women Team, is being recognized by Florida’s Sunshine State Conference (SSC) as the Top Female Basketball Player of the first Quarter Century. Coach King who still holds the NCAA Division II career record for scoring average (28.3), was a two-time All-SSC Player of the Year as well as a two-time, first-team All-America selection. Her two-year scoring total of 1,668 ranks fourth all-time at Florida Tech and 12th in SSC history. She led the Panthers to a pair of SSC regular season and conference tournament championships in her two seasons and still ranks among Florida Tech’s single-season and career leaders in field goals, field goal percentage, free throw and free-throw percentage. She was also a member of the Jamaican National Team as a player, and currently reside in Indianlantic, Florida.
