Poem: Athena

Photo credit: Caroline Hernandez

……………. when you were a little girl,

Your mommy and daddy,

saw you as their world:

They cuddle, kiss, rock you,

Sang to you, play, twist & twirl,

Your golden hair—your golden curls:

In their eyes and unsaid words,

You were their beautiful pearl:

Athena, when you were a little girl,

Mommy and daddy was very proud,

And protect you from all the mishaps;

Of the world and still today in their hearts:

You are more than what they deserved!
