Poem: Grace 2021

Today I rise, say my prayer — with a smile:

Read my scripture, wash clothes,

I sure did not waste no time:

Make a call, to take care of business,

Wait for you to answer, again with a smile:

We spoke, you read fast, I ask you,

To slow down and you speak slower,

And I smile, for I knew God was on the line;

Again, I smile, God gave you and I grace:

Today I thank the Lord, as I felt your sigh:

I end my call to you—a stranger, “I love you,”

With a great smile; As you transfer me,

To a musical line.
