Poem: I Am a Goddess

Photo credit: Andrae Rickettes

Black, brown or white,

I am great in God’s eyes:

I am not less even if I am a mess,

I am great in God’s eyes:

I am great just like you,

Respect is always due;

To my ancestors that made,

The way for me and you;

I am goddess, even in my blues:

I wish the best for you;

although we’ve part, I thank you,

cause you have help me grow

and that is true;

I am a goddess—especially,

when I am with the great me,

and the great you!
