Poem: I Love My Hair

I love my hair! When it curls, roll up
But I wish it would flow, in the wind,
Dancing to the rhythms of the cool breeze
Lover’s reggae rock
I love my hair! When its short, neatly cut
But I wish it would knot up, stand strong
Beautifully, like a jet black, Goldie locks
I love my hair! When it is seen,

As one of my greatest attributes, my greatest crown’
And that’s a fact! With no hands—but yours,
Touching, my ‘fro locks:

I love my hair, as streaks of silver lace—shine

Tells time

Of grace—age:
As I stare in the mirror,

Pretending dancing, to the sweet melody,

Oldies, lovers’ rock!
