Poem:  One More For the Road

One more for the road, I thought today

“Not bye bye nor adios, my grands would say

I miss seeing their presence, that seem so far away

One more for the road, not bye bye,

I hear my grands smile and say:

“Mama, see you later, I hope you come back again!”

Still, I forget when my thoughts, lead me astray

When there’s so much, weight on my head,

and I forget even the day: One more for the road,

as the chapter in my life change

This may be the very end who knows

I say for now “See you later and I will remember,

The many times I am told to pray.
