Poem: Reminisce

I had left you behind; not that I wanted to,

But life was too unkind: I needed you to find—me,

In my loss of my identity that almost took my mind:

I found out I was never yours, and you were never mine,

So, I left you behind; not that I wanted to,

But life was too unkind: I was ashamed,

Did not want, you to see me cry,

Now, it’s only the memory of your, captivating, wide smile,

Reminding me, that I had left you behind, hoping,

You would forgive me and that you’ll find me,

In a greater space, better than I was,

And your heart, would be much more kind.
