Poem: River Swallow All Rivers

Maybe I will dance for the sky

Where rainbows sprinkle

Glitter dust for you and I.

Maybe I will sing mellow songs

Hoping this will make you smile

Dry your weeping eyes.

Maybe I will imagine I can fly

While I cradle you in my arms

And pretend you are all mine.

Maybe I will ask you to stay

For a while, as I sing you,

A beautiful lullaby.

As you grow and it appears

There is no more smiles.

Maybe, Zaire I shall please you,

Before I take my last breath,

Before I say goodbye

Let your rivers swallow all rivers

And ‘let your love multiply!’
