I believe that God was in the sky,

And that mankind was oh so very nice:

There was a time I wish the tears,

That sprinkle down my eyes,

Was not wasted over foolish things,

But for a love one that was so wise:

There was a time I believe my love,

Was so great that it would bring smiles,

And hope to those who were sad, weary,

And refuse to be kind:

Now I know now, it takes a greater, purer,

Compassionate, soul to bring, peace, hope,

Joy, life and love in every heart, eyes,
