Poem: When We Dance

Photo credit: David Hofmann

You made my eyes, body, and the sky smile,

And nothing took me by surprise; for you were there by my side:

When we dance; our dance was in sync, unforgettable;

as we dance to various, lover’s rock songs:

When we dance, it was, a different kind, of movement;

Our dance mend hearts, bring hope, joy, new, young love— join as one:

Yes, when we dance, we forgot our sorrows; We were the songs,

of Africa, the Caribbean, that made hearts smile,

It was a great and beautiful romance!
