Poem: “Who are You?”

Photo credit: Joice Kelly

You look different, as you, stare at your brown eyes:

You were once slim, energetic, fill with hope,

Joy,— Alive; now cautious and think you are,

Not the right size:

Who are you?

As you stand alone, staring in the mirror,

Trying to remember if you ever loved you,

If you ever knew you, trying to please mankind;

Who once saw beauty, from the outside:

“Who are you?”

As you speak forgiveness, to the highest self;

“I Am great, loved, worthy, beautiful,”

“I Am my Mother’s child!”

Now gentle close your eyes, hug yourself and vision,

You having wings that can fly way beyond the sky.
