Staff WriterThe 17th annual staging Poetry in Motion (PiM) takes place on Sunday February 23rd at Manchester Golf Club, Brumalia Road in Mandeville, Manchester. PiM is the longest running and most successful annual Poetry Festival in the history of Jamaica and is highly recognized internationally in the world of Poetry.
Poetry in Motion 2020 is a charitable affair and this year our deserving beneficiaries are Manchester Peace Coalition and Friends in Need.
Clean Intelligent Fun
PiM celebrats the full spectrum of the creative and performing Arts, showcasing and highlighting: Music, Dance, Comedy, Story Telling, Fashion and Poetry and we decidedly provide Clean, Intelligent Fun for the Entire Family and Community. Our aspiration is to an epitome of social responsibility, nation building and transparency. Hence, we demonstrate punctuality by starting on time and in supporting our two charities, Friends in Need and Manchester Peace Coalition, we shall present our charity cheques on stage at Poetry in Motion 2020.
Exceptional Performers
In harmony with our established standard Poetry in Motion 2020 features exceptional performers, presenting the very best in the cultural, literary and performing arts. This year we are showcasing: Professor Edward Baugh, Dr Leahcim Semaj, Dr Michael Abrahams, Ka’Bu Ma’at Kheru, El Jones (from Canada), Marjorie Whylie, Dr Ann-Marie Wilmot, Denise Brown, Mik, Yasus Afari and an international surprise guest as well as the Golden Tongue Awards 2020 winner, among others. Art of Life Magazine – Poetry in Motion Edition
Poetry in Motion has now garnered the support of the Art of Life Magazine, which highlights Poetry and the creative, cultural, literary and performing Art as we collectively advocate for a life, which lives, reflects and celebrates the Art of Life. Thereby, providing artistic enlightenment for Jamaica and all humanity.
Golden Tongue Awards 2020 – Poetry Competition/Challenge – Calling All Aspiring Poets
Poetry in Motion 2020 is pleased to announce that the highly anticipated annual PiM – Golden Tongue Awards 2020 – Poetry Challenge has again gotten remarkable entries this year. It was opened January 15th and closed on January 31st, 2020. Our winner and runners up shall be declared soon.
