Our monthly after-work, open-mic, poets an lovers of the spoken word spotlights Dub Poetry with two of the most talented proponents in the New York area: JaBEZ and Osageyefo.
With it’s hypnotic mix of spoken word, reggae music and social consciousness, the Dub Poetry genre, coming out of the urban ghettos of Jamaica, has influenced writers throughout the Caribbean and internationally.
The session also sees the launch of JaBEZ’s latest collection of poems, Rainwata – Unda e poem tree.
